When we first bought our house, I wanted to have a home security system Austin installed. My husband did not think it was necessary. As a result of our disagreement, I decided to do some research so that I could convince him of the benefits of home security systems. After listening to my points, he agreed to go forward with an installation. Here is what I learned.
1. Your insurance goes down.
When you have a home security system, you get a break on your homeowner's insurance. In some cases, that could be as much as a twenty percent discount.
2. You know if you have a fire.
Your security system will notify you if your smoke alarm goes off. You can then take the proper steps to protect your home. In addition, if you have a carbon monoxide detector, you will also be notified if there is an issue there as well.
3. You feel secure in your home.
This was not an issue for my husband, but because he travels a lot, I needed to have some peace of mind that my house was secure while I slept. A security system does that for me (and many others!).
